We are glad to announce that the registration for the  second PyCon DE  in Leipzig is open. You can now buy  tickets at the early-bird rate until end of June before prices will go up. Don't miss the opportunity to come the larges meeting of the German-speaking Python community and secure your ticket now. If you plan not only to come but also to contribute, you can submit a proposal for a talk or a tutorial. A wide variety of Python-related topics are welcome. More details in an  earlier post . The  second PyCon DE  will be in Leipzig from October 29 through November 3, 2012. One tutorial day, three days with talks and two days with a barcamp, code retreat  and sprints will provide different ways to communicate about Python. There will be social events to give everybody ample opportunity to network with like-minded Pythonistas.

Give a Talk Talks should be, obviously, Python-related: Python as a programming language (implementations, core development, Python 3) Web applications with Python (frameworks, best practice, CMS) Usage of Python in science, industry, finance, teaching, and system administration Applications with Python (GUI, database, mobile, hardware control etc.) Software development (testing, agile development, algorithms and datastructures, parallel programming, embedding etc.) Tools (testing, deployment, IDEs, platforms such as GAE or EC2) Python community (Open Source, marketing Python, community events etc.) And more - If your topic does not fit in any of the above categories but it is Python-related, please don't hesitate to submit it. Even though PyCon 2012 happened only a month and a half ago, it's never too early to start thinking about next year. In fact, the wheels are already in motion for planning PyCon 2013, which will be taking place in Santa Clara, CA for a second year. The dates to hold are Wednesday March 13-21, which include the tutorials through the sprints. The conference talks will begin Friday March 15 and run through the 17th. In the coming months we'll be announcing several intermediate dates, such as our Call for Proposals and the one you're all waiting for, the opening of ticket sales. The Call for Proposals is only a few months away, so start brainstorming! You helped us break submission records last year with 376 talks, 88 tutorials, and 55 posters. All together, we were busy shaping 519 great proposals into the great 2012 conference schedule we had, and we expect to receive even more proposals for PyCon 2013. This week marks your last opportunity to submit proposals to present at PyCon Australia 2012, the national conference for the Python programming community, to be held on August 18 and 19 in Hobart, Tasmania.
