Congratulations on the announcement of what will doubtless be another brilliant jewel in the APAC crown. Hmm, maybe that wasn't the best analogy from a British citizen.
I was privileged to be invited to present a keynote address at the first PyCon APAC (though I extracted the penalty of requiring the conference to let me present a technical (was it?) talk on metaclasses).
If my memory serves the inaugural conference was also the first time a PyCon ran a SingPath competition. While it was clear from the outset that I was never likely to win, I an happy to note that at least one other keynote speaker finished behind me (and Skippy knows I am not talking to him).
I presume the news of my slightly premature retirement from the chair has reached APAC. Just the same I'd like to wish you well with this event.
